5/9 Senior Final Exam Blog Post

I am very glad that I didn't take this as an online course. The teacher was very nice and willing to answer any and all questions I had along the way. Naturally I am not the most graceful with computers, but Mrs. Peres helped guide me gracefully through my troubles. I have learned how to create professional looking website using tools such as Blogger and Wix, as well as to succeed in a primarily tech based class. I will defiantly use the information that I learned in this class in the future. PowerPoint presentations are the typical way to create presentations. I have learned how to use Prezi earlier this year, and I think that it will really something extra to my projects in college. However, I did learn new ways to personalize my PowerPoints to make them more unique than the norm. I learned how to create my own template to make a large and more interesting impact with my presentations. Using these skills and others, I think that it will set me apart from the rest of my future classmates, who might choose to use PowerPoint in it's most basic form. Other tools I will for sure return to are using LucidPress to create things like greeting cards, social media headers or personalized thank-you notes. I think that you as a teacher give great and timely feedback, which I greatly appreciate. You seem to connect with your students on a real level which is something that I can't say for all teachers in this school. I'm going to keep track of your email because I think that you will be a valuable resource for keeping my up-to-date with the latest technologies, because on my own I wouldn't know where to start! Thank you for letting be work at my own pace because that is the best for me personally. You are a wonderful teacher and are doing an amazing job! Have a good rest of the year and an amazing summer.

5/4 Website Reflection

I had a lot of fun with this project because we were able to express creative freedom in design and topic choice. The theater department at this school is something that I have been a part of for all four years of high school, and even when I was not in an acting class, I still participated in numerous shows through technical theater. I thought it was relatively easy to create a final product that I was proud of, minus the hiccup at the end with finding my missing menu bar.

The websites that I liked the most belonged to Cole C, and Niki's. I liked Cole's because it looks like he put a lot of effort into making his website both knowledgeable and well put together visually. He picked a topic that was not necessarily about a club he was in, but he found something that he was passionate about, and that was defiantly apparent. Niki picked the same topic which I thought was cool. She picked the title "Love our planet" which grabbed my attention. The moving ocean at the bottom of the page was a creative and unique touch that really made it personal.

4/25 Website Selection

I do have experience creating a website before because we did an assignment in my Contemp class. The entire class used Wix.com. I ran into a few problems. At first it was hard to create a professional yet personal looking end product. With some coaching however, I was able to get that down fairly well. The next was all of the saving that is required. If you do not save almost every step of the way, then you have the chance of deleting your work. Overall, it was a fine sight, and I would consider using it again.

For this project, because I feel that I am a little behind, I want to use Wix.com. I am familiar with the formatting processes and the website as a whole. I am most involved in the theater department at his school, so that is what my topic will be.

I think overall, this assignment was very useful. Before listening to others talk about their apps, I would never have thought of using a “mobile planner”. I am a pen and paper kind of girl, but now I am interested in finding a mobile version of a planner, and see how it works for me. I think I’m going to try out Evernote first.
