1/26/17 Social Bookmarking CE

  • Do you have a different understanding of Social Bookmarking after reading this article
  • Do you think social bookmarking is a helpful & beneficial tool
  • Did you learn about any new social bookmarking sites that you would like to start using?

  • I do have a different understanding of social bookmarking after reading this article. At first I only thought about how social bookmarking could help me in my personal life. Now, I can see how social bookmarking could help me in a professional setting.
  • I do think that social bookmarking is a helpful tool. I have also done it a littlle --Google Chrome. I'm happy to integrate Symbaloo into my daily routine. I think the combination of the two will help keep my websites organized. I'm also excited to see how it will help in future group assignments.
  • I learned about a few, however, none of them interest me. I think I'm going to keep it simple and stick with Google Chrome and/or Symbaloo. Both of them are easy to use and secure which I like.

1/26/17 Symbaloo v. Chrome

Reflect on your recent experience with bookmarking within Chrome & Symbaloo.  Compare & contrast these two bookmarking options.  Which one did you like the best? Is there a time when one would be better than the other?

Personally, I have always used Google Chrome as my browser. So naturally, I have always used Chrome as my book marking tool. Trying to use Symbaloo was difficult for me at first. Once I got the hang of it, I really liked it. Having my spaces separated out into work and play will hopefully help me in the future to keep on track. With Chrome, all of your book marks are along the top, and that can make it tempting to stop work and go watch a video or something. But with Symbaloo, you have a designated page you stay on when you're working. I like the physical difference between pages, rather than having everything along to top of the screen with Chrome. I think it will help me get into the zone to start working. Im interested to see if I stick with Symbaloo for awhile, or if I will eventually start reaching for Chrome again.

1/17/17 - PREZI Reflection

  • Which tool do you think is easier to use? Why?
  • Which tool creates the more effective presentations? Explain.
  • Is there a specific presentation time when one tool would be better than the other? Explain.
  • Which tool would you choose to use the next time you create a presentation?

  1. For me personally, I have a better time using Prezi because it doesn't have as many functions as PowerPoint. I find the simpler the better for me.
  2. I think they're both equal in effectiveness. I think that PowerPoint would be a little more professional, because it's easy to share through email and work on Google Docs.
  3. I think Prezi is good for connecting ideas together because you can move in any direction. Prezi can be used like a flow chart. I would use PowerPoint to make multiple points that can come to a conclusion.
  4. It really depends on what I'm trying to achieve. If it is a group project, then definitely PowerPoint, but it was more laid back like this one, I would chose Prezi again.
