2/23/17 - Infographic research/examples

An infographic is an artistic representation of information using visual elements to relay the information such as pictures, graphs, charts or timelines. Infographics are used to create a more engaging way to get information or an idea across to the readers.  An infographic is best used for information that is comparing two or more things, sharing a large amount of statistics on a singular topic, or showing steps on how something is done. The key purpose of a good infographic translates basic data and information into easily digestible visual representations. Pictures are often more memorable and more likely to catch a reader's attention. I would use an infographic to spice up how I present information on a comparative assignment. I see this style of information working well on a poster presentation because it shows all the information on one large surface yet still remaining concise and interesting.
